  17. Use "ping ip-address" to check your connection. For example
  18. ping ftp.livewire.com.au. I think this is near you. Break with Ctrl-c.

  20. Are you using ppp.device? With "pppstats 0" you can see if you actually
  21. recieve any data when using amftp etc.
